Where can I get a kit to make a stained glass lamp?

I saw Delphi…but I am looking for something modern. Any suggestions?

There are classes that are good for first time stained glass artists…. here’s one in Berkley :http://www.stainedglassgarden.com/workshops; also some pre cut kits at this site:http://www.glassmart.com.
It’s not as easy as it looks to make a lamp…. you should start off with a few small projects first.

Also it’s expensive, the glass is only part of it, with stained glass you need a grinder, cutters, copper foil and metal soldering tools..for a lamp you also need a frame to work on. Good Luck….:)

i want a contemporary teen girl bedroom. how?

im a teen girl and i really want a modern /contemporary bedroom. i have a small space to work with and carpet. i want like really modern like clean simple lines, glass accessories, bold and basic and very mature looking. like black bed frames and glass lamps and not extremely bold colors for like paints. maybe an orange or yellow pillow or something but mainly light blues and greens. i really want it to look like a modern loft style apartment. i know im asking for alot but i love that style! thanks guys so much! and please include loads of links if you can! thanks

For a sophisticated look, I’d use the black furniture and either light icy blue or celery green and white accents. First choose the comforter set you like, then paint the walls a coordinating color. Since your room is small choose draperies in the same color (or a shade darker or
lighter) as your walls for a more open feeling. I like the green comforter from crate and barrel with black furniture best.

if a 60W light bulb in a bedside lamp is only 20 percent efficient in converting electric energy into light energy, how much joules of light energy does the light bulb produce each minute.

Light energy = 60 J/s * 0.20 * 60 = 720 J / min

Does anyone know how to change a floor lamp from a torchiere to a regular lampshade style?

I don’t know what kind of hardware might be available.

There is plenty of hardware available. While the availability and selection is quite broad there is a wide range of cost associated with such conversion. What will be the driving force will be the configuration of the lamp you wish to convert. If the lamp shade/bulb covering is made like those for a halogen lamp then the conversion will most likely require a complete rework.

Electronic or Magnetic Ballast in typical desk or table lamps with normal bulbs?

In a typical desk light where you can screw in a normal
incandescent or flourescent bulb, is this an electric or a magnetic ballast? Is there a way to tell?

Most screw in florescent bulbs have a built in ballast.
All your ceiling units have a separate ballast.

What is the procedure to paint on polished brass lamp?

I have 2 lamps made from ceramic and polished brass. The top is ceramic and bottom polished brass. Please give me info on how to revamp these lamps, especially the brass section. What paint, if I have to sand etc. I was thinking metallic paint/spray paint.Something that will stick to the brass I was thinking of black on the bottom section and a different colour on the ceramic as my decor is in red and black. What paint can I used for the ceramic?

since you are going to need to go to your local home depot or lowes, ect. just ask the ppl that work in the paint department there. i worked at sears in tools for a few years and they teach all of the paint employees just about everything they need to know, including how to answer that for ya!

How long do i keep my turtles lamps on for?

I have one UVB 5.0 Lamp, and 2 household heat lamps. How long do i keep each on for and are there any further instructions?

I leave the lamp on for 12 hours and off for 12 hours; this simulates day and night.
